This is to the Wranglers. To those who are supporting, who have saddled up and made a decision to act and make a difference through the Broken Arrow organization. Thank you for your volunteering, for your financial support, for your prayers and your encouragement. All of our efforts are taking root and the impact continues because of your generosity. We continue to seek sustainability and solutions within our local communities. Every day we are learning, advancing, making adjustments and implementing our strategy for today and the future. Our projects are getting funded, our capital improvements are in progress (and more coming), our operations are efficient, and we continue to improve.
The Big Picture
It is important to recognize what we are building. Broken Arrow Wranglers are building a co-op ranch, a collection of properties where we can execute our programs. From here we are empowering an army of leaders in our communities, who are able to create an environment of transparency and honesty that transforms culture from the inside out. The result is a set of OUTPOSTS, where the story, the brand, and the life principles are instilled and carried forward. This is a heart of our community that restores relationships as the most important thing in our lives. God is the guide and the foundation of everything we are part of as we are advancing His Kingdom here on earth.
General Updates
As the weather has cooled down in AZ, we have ramped up our equine activities and events. We are experiencing change and growth this fall. Thanks to our leaders, partners and supporters here is just a glimpse of what we are doing:
- Casa Grande Outpost: We are partnering with Blue Bell Behavioral Health and local leaders to serve veterans and first responders in Casa Grande. We will be acquiring another co-op ranch and horses to work locally with these future wranglers. We will help people find healing and step into their authentic life, and serve this community from the inside out.
- Eloy Outpost: Working to get a contract with the local fire dept and first responders to provide services and build community
- Gila River EMS connections: Providing services to these first responders, working to establish further relationships here.
- Outlaw Round Pen Nights: Round pen event open to the public to come, step into a round pen with one of our horses named OUTLAW. People are showing up ready to face things in their life, they are bringing their families, their work teams, their friends…and we are experiencing some amazing things.
- We are holding round pen experiences to the public – typically Wednesday evenings. Reach out to Sean at 602-799-3521 for info on timing or if you would like to book this for an individual or group/team experience. This is modeled after what Mike Buchanan developed at the Wyoming Prison/Mustang program.
- Hope and Healing Recovery Center: Partnering with Shine His Light to deliver equine therapy sessions in two different ranch Outposts in the valley. These are group sessions with those in recovery, and we are getting great feedback on the impact to those who are stepping in!!
- Equine Connections Community Center: Continue to partner and grow with Virginia (the ranch owner) and all she has to offer in Gilbert AZ. Recently had 50+ students from Sacaton Elementary out to the ranch for a field day to experience the horses, chickens, the donkey. Virginia has become a huge contributor in the training and volunteer leadership front. We are excited to see a ton of growth here.
- Chandler Unified School District: Continue to work with Chandler schools to reach the counseling team leads, staff and students as we pursue a sizable grant with Common Spirit Health. Our goal is to establish our programs in several schools and expand to offer our services to employees, students and families through this district.
- Outdoor experiences: Continue to get outside, get on the water and live life with friends, kids and families. This is a big part of our community development
- Local Churches: Working to partner as the mental health Outreach program for local churches and Celebrate Recovery programs.
- Horse Camps for Christ: Charlie and Debbie Hill have built out their Outpost, and are offering their events to the public. This includes prayer, worship, growing in relationship with Jesus as you observe Charlie working with horses…then get up in the saddle yourself.
- New business sponsors: Ray Moreno – Arizona Power Air (Everything you need for AC Service — Check out his fall tune up offer)
- New providers / “outfitters” on the inner-life journey: The 6th Day Connection, and we will be pointing people to InLIGHTen Wellness
- Grant applications: We continue to make contacts, reach out, fill out applications and grow in our partnerships. If you work for a corporation, or know individuals that would like to come alongside and sponsor Broken Arrow, spread the work and put us in contact with them!
- Veteran and First Responders as our leaders in communities: Continuing to grow the network and leverage the leadership of these individuals that know how to serve, and are willing to lead others to build community and real relationship.

End of Year Fundraising
The end of year is a big season for our fundraising campaigns. Many people are looking to give in this final month of the year. For those local to AZ, we have some great opportunities to raise funds through tax credits that we have available through two partners of ours. We are asking people to consider giving a tax credit to partner with us to build out the ranches and support community development. These also go into the pool of scholarships for those in need.

The “Inner Life” of Broken Arrow – Keep the prayers going:
This season has been tough. We knew it would be. Inner struggles, the constant battle with our own doubts, fears, financial stability, relationships, faith, hope…
We are experiencing it all. We expected this to be a battle. Anything worth pursuing is going to be a battle. Only weeds grow fast 🙂
We continue to return to our principles and values, to the horse…to being honest and authentic. To sharing our pain, our dirt and our struggles with others.
We are finding that the growth is happening through experiences, through stories, through people bringing others to see. We have had to make a lot of adjustments, listen and read where the spirit leads us, and then take some big leaps. We have come to expect this to be a normal part of the process. We are finding that reaching one at a time, and letting the stories spread is how we are making the most ground. All of you are part of that. (Matthew 4:19)
